Dr. Jill Tamsett-Schmidt

Dr. Tamsett-Schmidt practices comprehensive eyecare for all ages. She enjoys co-managing ophthalmic surgery cases and is experienced in pre and post op refractive surgery care. She also specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease as well as the fitting of contact lenses and glasses.

Dr. Tamsett-Schmidt is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the North East Florida Optometric Society. Dr. Tamsett-Schmidt is a Florida native and a graduate of Florida State University. She received her Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry. In 1997, she and her husband relocated to Orange Park, Florida.

 

Debbie Kraus, Administrative Assistant

Debbie not only manages the appointments/schedule of our practice, but also coordinates our customer service department. She is extremely knowledgable, not only with office procedures and policies, but also with eye health problems. Her well-rounded experience in the optometric environment is valuable in assisting you with phone inquiries.

Thanks to Debbie, you simply have to set up your appointment. She sees to it that insurance information is gathered prior to your visit and that your experience at the office is pleasant, efficient, and that you are satisfied with your service and purchase. She is our staff-patient liaison.

 

Ron Kraus, Lab Manager

Ron is the lab manager of our on-site facility and is responsible for the fabrication,finishing and final dispensing of your eyewear. Our optical laboratory has the latest in equipment to not only fabricate your glasses, but to maintain and repair them should they become broken or damaged. We are able to tint, coat, harden and edge spectacle lenses. We are able to provide you with any frame or lens design available.

Our highly qualified staff will adjust and fit your glasses to you for extended comfort and vision. Our attention to detail and a keen eye for quality assures that every item that leaves our lab will exceed your expectations.

 

Susan Hopper, Styling Expert

Susan has an exceptional talent for choosing eyewear that flatters, fits, and is functional. She is certified by “Envision Yourself” , a program that emphasizes face shape, skin tone and color, and lifestyle.

She will help to make your selection experience not only enjoyable but fun! Her consulting services are free when you visit our office.

 

Celeste Hughes, Optometric Assistant & Stylist

Celeste has over twenty years experience in the Optometric field. She is experienced in the key areas of our profession.

She runs the special procedures, and assists the doctors in the back office. She’s our “fashion guru” and delights in helping our patients find the perfect frame style to match their style and their budget.  She has an excellent understanding of insurance benefits and helps our patients understand the value of their plans.

 

 Amy Helton, Insurance Coordinator

Amy works “behind the scenes” on your behalf filing your exam charges to your insurance company.  She has an exceptional understanding of billing and coding language and protocol.   She is extremely patient and very effective.  Her goal is to see that your claim is paid properly per the agreement your insurance company has made with you.  She can also help you understand your benefits and your out-of-pocket costs.

 

 

Sharon Pembroke

Sharon is our lead tech.  She records intake information pertaining to the patient’s medical history and current illness and/or vision problems.  She assists the doctors in the exam room and performs special testing as ordered by the doctors.  She has a gift for putting people at ease as she explains the tests and procedures that are so often new to the patient.
